Join FAN members on a visit to the newly renovated Freedom Tower in downtown Miami. Experience a bold new museum experience that weaves together history, art, and storytelling. Four unique exhibitions include two floors of Libertad, a documentary about the role the Freedom Tower played as the Cuban Refugee Center (El Refugio) during the 1960s and 1970s; Reflections, located in the old Miami News typesetting room with an installation by artist Sharon Loudon; and a colonial works collection of rare and ancient maps, books and print along with contemporary works of art housed in the Kislak Center; and We Carry Our Homes With Us, a collection of thought-provoking contemporary art.
Amy Galpin, PhD, Executive Director/Chief Curator, will lead us through the exhibitions.
