In Spring, the Company continues to take a historical approach to dance by performing a Balanchine piece on the same roster as those of later choreographers who were influenced by him.

Central to the program is Balanchine’s Agon, the 1957 tour de force set to a groundbreaking Stravinsky score that features 12 dancers creating mesmerizing movement as they come together in pairs, trios and quartets. Another program gem is Following The Subtle Current Upstream, described as a piece about how to return to joy.

The company will also perform a new work by Ricardo Amarante, the Brazilian born choreographer whose impassioned work has captured applause from international audiences and critics alike.
